About the workshop
Learn the basics of letterpress printing on our Vandercook press from 1962! During this 2-hour workshop, students will learn how to print with photopolymer plates on a hand-cranked press. We’ll walk you through all the fundamentals of the pressroom, including how to use printing plates, how to operate and clean the press, and how to order your own paper and photopolymer plates for when you’re printing solo.
No prerequisites needed. No prior printing experience required. Beginners are encouraged to sign-up! After this workshop, you’ll be able to schedule press time during working hours for only $25/hour (ink included).

WHAT’S INCLUDED:
This 2-hour workshop will begin with a brief intro to letterpress printing and a walkthrough of the shop. You’ll learn all about the history of letterpress, how our vintage presses and machines operate, and what we do here at The Aesthetic Union. Then it’s time to mix ink, set up the press, and start printing!
