A SUNSET ON THE DELTA

This print was inspired by a night spent on the San Francisco Bay Delta when I was working at the Maritime Museum. I rode by bike from the end of the Pittsburgh BART line up to Isleton, CA to meet the historic schooner Alma for her trip back to the museum. Along the way we anchored in Steamboat Slough. It was surrounded by tule reeds and the light reflecting off the hills was an intense orange. Groups of pheasants flew overhead as I laid on the wooden deck to take it all in.
