These are difficult times. The lack of actual human interaction has most of us on edge, but it also goes to show how important it actually is. I wanted to create something eye catching we could all hang in our windows to communicate (in a safe way) our thanks to all the people helping the world turn as we hunker down. I took some inspiration from Sister Corita Kent, who was an artist working from the 50’s into the 70’s in Los Angeles. The way she used bold type and torn edges was so human, almost figurative in a way … Being human is something we need so much of right now! She shared a message of love through screen printing and happenings, so I thought there really was no better person to be inspired by for this design.
